Better Brew Tasting Garden

Lagunitas presents Better Brew Tasting hosted by BetterBeerBlog

Participating Breweries: If you're a craft brewery and are interested in participating, please email betterbeerblog [at] gmail.com.

"Do-It-Yourself is a core concept of the craft beer community. On the homebrew level, nothing illustrates this more than the seemingly endless variety of brewing set-ups homebrewers across the country have built for themselves to solve an issue they were having. Even in my own garage, the awkwardly coiled line of copper tubing was my DIY attempt at making my own immersion cooler. It works, by the way."

"On the professional level, DIY pretty much sustained the craft beer industry in its nascent stage. The natural pairing of craft beer with SubZERO fest was not a question of if, but of when." Peter Estaniel, BetterBeerBlog

MIKE BORJA

Mike Borja grew up in San Jose and studied New Media and Fine Art at the AAU in San Francisco. He loves creating visual art and thinking about concepts and ideas. When he was a little kid he would mix all sorts of liquids in a cup hoping a dragon would magically appear. Now, Mike mixes paint and other materials for dragons, tigers, dogs, people, and all sorts of creatures to magically appear. He'll be at SubZero this year showcasing new prints and original art work.

CROSSROADS TRADING CO.

Crossroads Trading Co. is a new and recycled fashion retailer that has been serving its fashionable and environmentally conscious customers since 1991. While customers can buy great name-brand and designer clothing at a greatly discounted price, they can also sell their gently used clothing for cash or trade in our stores. This means customers can feel good knowing they kept that clothing out of landfills and they take home stylish new pieces.

Crossroads has won over 80 "Best of" awards, including "Best Place to Get $200 Denim for $20" and "Best Way to Profit from Your Giveaways."

Providing excellent customer service is important to Crossroads, and each store is an integral part of its neighborhood and community. Because we buy most of our merchandise directly from our customers, each store directly reflects the surrounding neighborhood. At SubZERO, we will be selling a variety of new and used clothing, jewelry, sunglasses and other accessories to best fit festival-goers' styles.

La Buena Vida Apparel (tm) is a clothing company based out of Northern Cali.

After getting tired of seeing the same mainstream designs at "trendy" stores, we decided it was time to branch out and create something with substance. La Buena Vida, which translates to "The Good Life" in English, is a celebration of living. To us, the good life represents family, embraces diversity, and values the present.

Welcome to "La Buena Vida".

TIM THOMPSON

Tim Thompson -- Space Palette / LoopyCam

The Space Palette is a Kinect-based instrument that you play by waving your hands. The version that appeared at last year's SubZERO was rectangular and only let you play music.

This year, it's OVAL and does VISUALS as well as music! Your hands will be controlling beautiful graphics projected on the side of a tall building.

Tim Thompson, the developer of the Space Palette, will also be wielding LoopyCam, a handheld camera-based visual instrument that can record, loop, and process up to eight video loops in realtime.
